ID Protection

ID Protection for domain names

Make your domain registrations private

Did you know that your name, email, and phone number are made publically available within the WhoIs database when you register any domain name? Any spammers, solicitors and other prying eyes can find your personal information online, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

How does ID Protect help reduce spam?

Due to the dynamic email system, your visible email address is constantly changing, so while it is being harvested and redistributed, it will change and the previous address will no longer work for the spammer. The Domain Privacy Protection Service secures and maintains your real email address on file so you receive important information regarding your domain.

What if I need to prove ownership of a domain?

You have the ability to temporarily disable the ID Protect service through your domain control panel. Turn off the service and then ask the verifying party to confirm whois registration details. Once complete, you may turn the ID Protect service back on through your domain control panel.

How do I add the service to my domains?

For all new domain name registrations, we are offering ID protect as a feature for £4.25 per year which protects your identity as described above. If you have existing domain names, we need to add the feature manually and then you can manage it on an ongoing basis e.g renewals of the service. To activate existing domains, just contacts us directly or raise a support ticket from within your account area (where you manage your domains and bills).
